Approach

Each enclosure is modelled around a specific board. Structural parts are PETG; gaskets, seals and bumpers are TPU. Common features across the designs are screw bosses with heat-set inserts, snap-fit battery holders, TPU gaskets between halves, and cut-outs for displays, USB and buttons.

LoRa32 compact enclosure with temperature sensor

A smaller version of the nRF52 case layout for a LoRa32 board, with an external temperature sensor.

nRF52840 test board enclosure

A two-piece enclosure for the nRF52840 multi-sensor board. Screws hold the halves together with a TPU gasket between them, and the battery holder snap-fits into the bottom half.

nRF52840 enclosure v2

Changes from v1:

  • Housing for a tactile button
  • A TPU outer shield for drop protection
  • A larger display window

LoRa nRF52 communication device

A portable enclosure for a LoRa nRF52 board, with an external antenna instead of the on-board one.

  • External SMA antenna connector mount
  • Large battery bay for two 18650 cells
  • Gasket groove for outdoor use, including a seal around the antenna
Internal assembly and component placement

LoRa ESP32 gateway enclosure

An enclosure for a stationary ESP32 LoRa gateway:

  • Small display cut-out for status monitoring
  • Magnets in the base for wall or pole mounting
  • TPU seals against water

Raspberry Pi Zero W servo camera mount

A two-servo pan-tilt mount for a Raspberry Pi Zero W and Camera Module v2. The Pi runs the custom Yocto image.

  • Pan and tilt axes, one servo each
  • Pi Zero W housing with GPIO access
  • Camera aimed from a web interface over Wi-Fi
